Title: Happenings - Nonlinguistical...
Post by: aleks on 2007-02-04 06:09:20
... but maybe musical!

Hello folks, I'm still looking for some nice people around there to spend a few days at important events this summer... It may seem quite early to you, but I just want to see where the bunnies walking  (to translate a German idiom poorly)

I'm interested in visiting the Burg Herzberg Festival (http://www.burgherzberg-festival.de/line.html) as well as
Sziget (http://www.szigetfestival.com/indexlangue.htm)

The prior being the major hippie-event in Germany (yes I know, how *aleks* from me) and the latter being the musical act across Europe!

Sziget has a wishlist where you can enter names of bands you would like to see!

Anybody interested in having a nice party?

Of course you could post you suggestions here as well!

Regards, Aleks

I will most likely be there. A good decision for all blues fans and musicians. But of course not as dirty as something harder. ;-)

Emm and most certainly webmaster idiots, here are more info: http://www.bluesschmusundapfelmus.de/

Can anybody tell me what *that* means? Warten-Bürtenbergians here? Mostkönigin? What's she good for? Did she win a drinking Most competition or does she smell most like Most?

And the girl beside her has the greatest apples, does she? (Ein Schelm, wer böses dabei denkt)...

Well, I happen to know a former Weinkönigin...

Her parents were actually wine farmers, so there might be some family bonds invovled.

The main task of a "wine queen":

Represent the home community abroad e.g. at student exchanges etc.

Tell you what: in S-H we have got a "Kohlkönigin" - just imagine...

Kohlkönigin? What's that? Helmut's Monica?

(OK, I must admit, that was a bad one... ::) )

Errr... back to topic - anybody joining me with Sziget? ... Come on, just have a look at the pictures there from the last time - it's really lot's of fun and any kind of music from Heavy Metal to African Folklore...

Sziget would be nice, but I'm no longer free to go where I want. I even wasn't to M'Era Luna last year :(

Sounds really interesting, though.

M'Era Luna (http://www.fkpscorpio.com/meraluna/default.asp)? Didn't know you were that kind ;D... Yes, it's a nice festival if you have a look at the bands, though I won't probably be able to spend my money on more than two, max. three festivals and M'Era Luna may not be among them...

Didn't know that? Well, only part-time, and that part's always been very small.

Hey Johannes, how about Tuska, Helsinki?

http://www.tuska-festival.fi/

I'm just downloading a clip from 2003's festival - this year it's their 10th anniversary...

If we'll go, I'll learn some Finish, of course. :D

Do you know till when it goes on? I would come, but have a ballroom dancing ball which will not end before 1 o'clock... I'd come afterwards, but with helping to clean up, going home and putting on something more appropriate, it is likely to be 2 in the morning...  :-[ Do you think it's still worth while at that time?

Just give me a call at that time. If you don't understand a word from what I'll be saying, it's probably still a fun party ;)

Btw, which ball?

No, the Shakespearemaniacs! Thanks for pointing this out, Johannes. I'll start reprimanding Aleks again far too soon anyway... ("Essen! Schlafen!")  :D See you tomorrow!
