Not that I am especially interested, but anyway I'd like to know next semester's courses. The  Vorlesungsverzeichnis seems unaccessible, even from within the SfS (I love penthesilea; when starting lynx, she complained about my cygwin-shell).

Well, obviously not. So who's responsible?

Or do we - as usual - have to wait till next semester to finally see what courses we would have liked to be informed about a bit earlier?

Ist das die Nachricht an Außerirdische auf einer der Pioneer-Sonden? Irgendwie fehlt mir da das Bild von Mann und Frau...

Mit "Trier" fällt mir momentan nix Sinnvolles ein.

Kilian, you're not Aleks' father, are you?

As a student of the last M.A. year I might offer advice on how to relax during studies, but I just realized, that if I finished all courses with exams or papers I would have enough credit points do get a second M.A. (actually that had been my plan: a M.A. in general linguistics alongside my normal CL). So my advice is not really reliable ;)

The photos, btw, are quite nice. What about the others? Jon?

We could handle it that way that we password-protect the pictures and post the password here, probably.

I'll be at the SfS around 7:15. I have bought coke (9l), 1 box of beer (24 bottles), Cachaca (0.7l; maybe Ramon will bring some more), rum (0.7l), water (9l), juices (12l), limes (36) & lemons (4), and snacks (2kg?). I'll later get the ice.

I hope that'll be enough. Not enough for everyone to get drunk, but certainly for everyone having two free drinks and a nice time.

I suggest we collect a "Freiwilliger Unkostenbeitrag" with a "Richtbetrag" of 1€ per drink (non-alc 0.50€). But anyway, the Fachschaft has the money, so why not pay it back to the students? (We might be having some external guests, they could want to pay at least a little.)

I shouldn't start all sentences with I. I'll work on that.

The party will start around 8pm. We're going to have beer, juice, Caipirinha and some snacks I guess. Wear black if you don't want to be the only one in colors *g*

"probably", "probability", and "probabilistically" give good exercises for lip-tongue coordination.

Some of my favorites in German: Vernunft (from "vernehmen"?), wider-/abspenstig, schick ("schickes Outfit"; the word was borrowed to French for several centuries but decided to come back)

Reminds me too much of the Junk Generator we wanted to program in our second or third semester, when Dale and others always were telling about grammars generating junk. Several approaches to this already exist on the web.

Existentialists naturally use superlatives with a relative clause "was es gibt": "Die krasseste Party, die es gibt." Underlines its existence ;)

Small talk / Rattenscharfe Wörter
« on: 2007-02-13 10:00:19 »
The first two are spelled correctly, but what is the third supposed to be? "Voll fett, Homie"? If you ever intend to say that, a Gothic party is the wrong place for you. Exchange your skirt for baggy-style jeans... no, please don't. Those people use words like "megafette-polyphon-affengeil-spritzfaktoreinhundert-ständermäßig-geile-jambagangstuh klingeltöne" (I googled...)

Try "rattenscharf", or combine "ober-", "hammer-", "super-", "mega-" (almost; Google for the frequency of any combination) freely with "-geil", "-scharf". It all relates to sexuality in some way.

Can we produce our own ice this time, or shall we take it from the gas station again?

Suddenly all the dark people crawl out of their hide-outs ;) The new Zoo has a gothic and a metal party, first and second friday of each month. Let's try that at some point, but back to SfS business:

How much do we want to spend on snacks and drinks?

What do we need? (Cuba libre, because it's black?)

Who is buying the stuff? (me, because I have a car?*)

Who else will come, and do we require them to wear black?

Btw, we wouldn't have a problem sufficing the BB-Plenum rule, "dass sie nach außen nur in schwarz auftreten".

*) I just repaired some really tricky part of it and called my grand-father right afterwards, because he was always telling me I'll never be able to do that. Now he's betting I won't do the next repair. I'll get the missing piece today at 2, and then I'll try. Doing some (successful, yeah!) mechanics between all the exam preparations is quite nice, you should try that. (And upgrading your PC does not count!)

Another reason for buying a second external hard disk and paying you a visit, Aleks. I have other stuff, rangable from mere depressive sitting around to dancing.

I hope we don't scare the other people off ;)

I asked my neighbors, and they're on the right side as well. So who are the paying masses? It seems to me that they're not the people I usually have contact to. A side effect of the reasons WHY I don't have contact to them?

3 smaller universities got their quarter of the students; but still the whole protest will fail because of the overall (Baden-Würstchenberg) quorum. It's a shame! Pay to the Treuhandkonto, NOW!

Guy and I agreed that organizing the party as late as next friday wouldn't be a problem, only two things have to be clarified beforehand: how many people will come, and which room we have. Somebody should tell the Hausmeister.

We can join the BB-Plenum, if they are organizing one. Everything beyond that is also beyond our experience and capacities.

Parties and Events / Re: Clubhausfest
« on: 2007-02-07 14:28:53 »
No typo. SfS parties are the lowest league: 150€ suffice, no profit. Then comes a room at the BB-Fest: spend 700-1500€, profit 500-1000€. You're now heading for Clubhausfest, and that would be the upper bound of a BB-Fest room doubled (at least).

148
Parties and Events / Re: Clubhausfest

Let's also have a quick estimate of expenses and income, because I think we would have to spend some 3000€ (+/- 1000€).

The Clubhausfest involves much more work than the Brechtbaufest. We'd need DJs, a lot of technical equipment, maybe security (they started having this), drinks (there seems to be a regular supplier) and 10 people per shift. That means basically everyone of us.
