« on: 2007-01-15 15:31:05 »
OK, I think this should go into a separate topic to be easy to look up.

Who will do what on the Fest?

This has to be decided quickly. I'll open a list in the first post of this topic and will update it according to mails and replies to this it. The list should be finished end of this week.

There's also a list of what we are going to buy at the end of the post. This, too will be kept up to date. We should also include a... err... Kostenvoranschlag? An estimation of the money everything's goin to cost.

I'll stay in reserve to fill in any part (barkeeping, Aufbau, Abbau) where it's needed.

My car volunteers to work, as well.

Count me in on spending Friday afternoon in BB and the first shift at the bar.

Guy and Aleks, you two are the ones with experience and a vision. I think it makes sense if you two are present at the Brechtbau during assembling in the afternoon, and we others serve as henchmen at your bidding (fetching the drinks etc).

Plus one person who is always at the disposal of the central party organization from 1 PM on.

Armin, Jon and I have volunteered to advance money for the drinks if necessary. Guy will tell us what to buy, right?

People who will definitely be there on January 26 from 2 PM on at the latest: Armin, Charlotte, Bela, Anna, Jon and I. More volunteers are appreciated!

As already mentioned I will do shifts at the bar. But I would also gladly help with the "Aufbau" friday afternoon.

Buying drinks is an option as well; I might be able to organize a car (including a driver ;))

I'll be glad to do something about the decoration - and maybe also the cleanup, as I'd be completely useless at the bar. I suggest we...

...get some flags from all the countries we've got students from, plus a map of the world, to decorate the walls and emphasize that we're *international* *yippieh* (well, okay, that's not too creative, but more stuff is following...)

... then, we could revive the syntactic tree or even open up a tree nursery (but put together a reasonable sentence this time, with some relation to partying) - and, in case we are allowed to have food in our room as long as we're not explicitly selling it, an edible parsing chart - a C Y Cake! ;-) (I'm dying to get this crazy idea of mine realized somewhere - do brownies as the chart fields and decorate with Russisch Brot...)

...if we have some old monitors and stuff, we can maybe get something done with them as well (ideas? - In case we get some and they still work - Aleks, could you devise a way to run some fancy graphics stuff on them, like the nice psychedelic patterns Anne once created? And pllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, do bring your beloved show-off genius@work computer, then you can put a different fancy pattern on each desktop and display them on the old monitors!!!)

Okay, enough creativity for today, still gotta finish my soup and do my Turkish homework. Greetings and please do add more suggestions!

I'll sponsor my hi-fi stuff again in case nobody has anything more adequate, i.e. more robust/professional (Aleks?). I'd appreciate it though if we could all keep an eye on it, since this isn't going to be as quiet/civilised as SfS parties.

Other than that, I'd be happy to help at the bar and/or with The Aufbau, but please don't make me try decorate things, I'm terribly bad at that... ;-) I could also help with buying the drinks.

See you,
Ramon

OK. We can put four more on the list.

Well, I have a 400 Watt Bass amplifier, but that is certainly not suitable for playing music through it.

Hm. I do have an old amp that is quite OK, but it has temperature problem (gets too hot when it's too hot outside). But I do not have any suitable speakers. Your HiFi is quite OK, and we'll have to watch for my computer as well anyways...

I'm not really keen on volunteering for the Abbau, but if all else fails... I would not want to do it, however...

The list for our expenses is now updated. It should also include the quantities and the estimated amount of money we'll spend for every single thing and for everything overall.

Guy is going to buy all the stuff from a place where we can get everything a lot cheaper. Those things will end up in Wendlingen, however. So we still need someone to fetch the stuff. All this is going to happen this Saturday. If you want to, Charlotte, you could ask Guy about how to proceed.

Regards, Aleks

Did I mention that I'll be everywhere where a barkeeper is needed?
At least 'till 1 am.

@DecoTeam: if you still need flags, I'll bring some.

well i have good news and bad news

i will start with the good news:
shopping is done and i got the following:
rum (havana club) 2 liters
tequilla (sierra) 4 liters
cachaca (pitu) 3 liters
ramazzoti 1.5 liters
jaegermeister 2 liters

cola 15 liters
orange juice 30 liters
banana juice 6 liters
cherry juice 6 liters
grenadin 1.5 liters
sugar syrup 1.5 liters
1 kg of nuts

plastic cups (540)
shot cups (320)
straws(540)
bar cover(10m)
flachenausgiesser(6)*(i dont know the word for it in english)

we still have to buy :
ice
oranges(15)
lime(25-30)
mint(if we want)
block of paper

so far for the good new now the bad news is the price
346.45
i know it is much higher then the limit but we also get 20 back for the bottles
and i the prices of brand name rum tequilla and cachaca are high
and i guess i didnt consider tax which was almost 48.
so i was only 70 euro above 250 and i will buy whatever orange juice
that will remain and we can also sell the unused bottles.

i guess now its the time to do some agressive marketing
we should e.mail all our people and make sure they are coming
and the rest of the things we need are cheap
sorry again but the bastards only show you the price after it is checked in
and i only bought what was on the list
guy ;D

for all of you who are giving a shift at the bar but don't know how to make the drinks:

CAIPIRINHA
2 oz. Cachaca
1 oz. Simple Syrup or tsp. of sugar
1/2 Lime quartered.
Place lime quarters in the bottom of mixing glass, add the syrup and muddle extracting the juice and the oil in the skin from the lime quarters. Chill a rocks glass with cracked ice. Add Cachaca to the mixture in the mixing glass and dump the ice into the mixing glass and shake well. Pour the entire contents of the mixing glass back into the chilled rocks glass and serve.

CUBA LIBRE
2 oz. Cuban Rum (Good Luck finding it!)
Coco Cola
Lime wedge
Pour the rum over ice in the highball glass and fill with coca cola. Squeeze in a lime wedge.

TEQUILA SUNRISE
1 1/2 oz. White Tequila
Orange Juice
Grenadine
Ice a highball glass. Fill with tequila and fresh orange juice and top off with a float of Grenadine.

and you don't have to hava a master in pouring shots in to cups
if you have any questions about the drinks just post them here or ask me on friday

i went to the bank today and now have €200 in €5s, €2s, €1s, and 50-cent coins (to be split between the 2 cash boxes).

i will also bring my tea lights, and my small-ish american and german flags that i bought for the winter olympics last year but was too embarrassed to wave. hahahaha.

i'll be there at 1 to help with the aufbau, so i don't know if i have enough stamina to stay the whole night. we'll see!

jon :)
