End-of-Semester-Party
« on: 2007-01-31 14:42:47 »
Hey there,

Guy and I had the idea to have another party at the SfS or maybe somewhere else, similar to the first party we did. How about last Friday of this semester, being 16th of Feb.?

Some people (including me) have a syntax seminar afterwards, but hey, don't be ridiculous, we can have a party anyways... at least a small one, right before everyone gets back home...

I think the Fachschaft has done some great deal to bring folks from the different courses closer together... we should keep up the good work.

Suggestions?

Regards, Aleks

I'll bring cups, straws, tea lights, and maybe a shaker and a bowl for ice.

After all the money earned is for further Fachschaft events. After everyone's paid out we know how much we can spend. The money has to last till next year's BB-Fest, that's about 5 parties.

If the people with an exam are fine with that day, let's do it.

The date sounds okay to me, there's the weekend in-between, in any case. And if even I'm saying it's okay, who else should object?  ;D I hereby explicitly allow Aleks and Guy to break the glasses left from the candles  *iff* they can find someone who's getting married to honour with that slightly destructive act :D . If I manage to, I can finally bake a CYCake... my last exam is on Thursday, so...

The question is how many people will still be in Tü. I mean, it would be cool to have a party and I'm all pro but let's just make sure first that we don't spend too much money on a modest Fachschaft party ;)

Well, it's exactly on the day of the last lectures... so maybe most students *should* still be here...

I won't. Grandfather's eightiest...

Never mind, you wouldn't find a date suiting me anyways ;-) Go ahead planning :-)

The date is fine for me.

I recommend you to call a Fachschaft meeting, so we can make a proper democratic decision to spend money for the party.

Fachschaft Meeting? You're nuts aren't you? When? Except on the weekends maybe...
But - you're right of course, we do need one...

OK, so let's try to find a consensus...
I'm fine everyday from 18:00, but that's also the only possibility.

I can help with informing everybody: I have that fairly large list of students' e-mail addresses. Just tell me what exactly to announce.

hum... sorry to say so, but I'll probably not be there... no c-y-cake, either, because I'm leaving on Thursday evening... anyway, if there's anything that can be done while cramming for exams at the same time, tell me and I'll gladly help...

Maybe let us just write who will be there for sure.
I for one thing (that's pretty sad & depressing).

What about the FS-meeting?

Could be held spontaneously after tomorrow's tuition fees meeting. Could you take the initiative?

As for the party, it looks like I'll be there for sure.

I would and I can, the only problem is that my last seminar ends at 7pm and I will not attend the tuition fees meeting. I can come after but in this case the chances of my coming to syntax have dropped another 50%...

OK, it did not happen today, as we аll know... ::)

Then, well shall it happen? It does not need to be big and greedy - just some music, a little food from Fachschaft money (probably?)... and all that happening in the hallways of West Virginia (people that didn't come to the Tuition Fee Meeting are out of luck...) like the last time, so we don't have to apply for a room.

It does not need too much organization, and we need only to tell people to come (especially first semester students and some AS folks).

So, do we agree on Friday, 16th of Feb.?

I could come and I'm ready to do my fair share of work for it.

I offer to inform the Introduction to Phonetics and Phonology course next Tuesday.
Who can inform other linguistics courses?

I mean, there's always e-mail, but a bit of physical communication certainly wouldn't come amiss. :)

Well, most of them are magister students (THE LAST ROCKSTARS!) and took AS as their minor... I must admit, I'm not that interested in what is going on at the Politikwissenschaft department... Don't go to their parties or meeting or anything (including seminars sometimes ;P)... Anglistik is something else, we have Kemmler ;)

Guy and I agreed that organizing the party as late as next friday wouldn't be a problem, only two things have to be clarified beforehand: how many people will come, and which room we have. Somebody should tell the Hausmeister.

Come
as you are,
as you were,
As I want you to be
As a friend,
as a friend, as an old enemy.
Take your time,
hurry up
The choice is yours, don't be late.
Take a rest,
as a friend,
as an old memory
Memoriieeeeess... yeah...
Memorieesssss ... yeah...

Laura, I'll join you!
We share the same faith. I'll be barely alive.

Let's make it a gothic costume's party! I'll be there as Dracula after a midnight's excessive orgy...

Come
dowsed in mud,
soaked in bleach
As I want you to be
As a trend, as a friend, as an old memory

Memorieeeeees, yeah
Memorieeeeees, yeah... ... ...

Well, I have Czech gothic music, but... It's just so damn hillariuos... It'll spoil the whole gothic-feeling! Other than that... I have the full "Dawn of War" soundtrack, even legally. You should ask Charlotte, she's bound to have more ;)

Sweet, I won't have to dress up! ;) Especially, since I'm dying today:
[sing=I guess I'll die on Monday]  ;D
I'm gonna break the psycho
I'm gonna shake up the system
I'm gonna destroy my ego
I'm gonna close my body now

I think I'll find another way
There's so much more to know
I guess I'll die on Monday
It's just my time to go

Also some 8GB double layer DVDs that should suffice to get everything on 'em... it's not that much... but quality matters most, after all :D

Suddenly all the dark people crawl out of their hide-outs ;) The new Zoo has a gothic and a metal party, first and second friday of each month. Let's try that at some point, but back to SfS business:

How much do we want to spend on snacks and drinks?

What do we need? (Cuba libre, because it's black?)

Who is buying the stuff? (me, because I have a car?*)

Who else will come, and do we require them to wear black?

Btw, we wouldn't have a problem sufficing the BB-Plenum rule, "dass sie nach außen nur in schwarz auftreten".

*) I just repaired some really tricky part of it and called my grand-father right afterwards, because he was always telling me I'll never be able to do that. Now he's betting I won't do the next repair. I'll get the missing piece today at 2, and then I'll try. Doing some (successful, yeah!) mechanics between all the exam preparations is quite nice, you should try that. (And upgrading your PC does not count!)

I used to go there quite regularly, but it sucked pretty much... well that could have changed... but I wouldn't have a bet on it...

Gotta write a parsing exam now, so we're dealing with SfS stuff later on...

Hi folks,

I have two bottles of Cachaza (~7.50€/bottle at ALDI right now) which I'd be willing to contribute if people want to have Caipis. How about it? Does this interfere with your gothic plans? ;-)

Of course, we'd also need limes, sugar and ice, so if someone could provide those it would be nice :-)

Best,
Ramon

Doesn't sound like a bad idea... opinions? Ice is cheap, Limes are not, but we should get away with another 10 €. We Could even demand a "Unkostenbeitrag" (Anna, that's one word for your collection... I'm still looking for those and will send you an e-mail by the time I found a reasonable amount ;) ) of about 0.50 €... how about that?

Can we produce our own ice this time, or shall we take it from the gas station again?

We should definitely have Caipis. I still have enpugh cups and straws for them.

Hi guys,

Kilian, thank you so much for authorising me! I donno what the problem was, the letters are not in spam...well, ok, now to the topic.

I have some black clothes, but they won't do for a Goth - more like for a hot vampiress, and it will be already a Carnaval-like thing, and Alex hates Carnavals... So I think I'd better enjoy the Gothic music in a bright hippy outfit  ;D

Or, Alex, are you ok with a vampiress  ;)   :P ??

Btw, I have lots of lil cute things for party decor, where and when, unless to the party directly, shall I bring those?
